Country / Device / Referrer Hidden Fields

The fields belong to hidden fields that are neither displayed to your respondents on the form nor supposed to be filled out. The fields help you collect non-personal information about your respondents to better adjust and set up your form to meet your customers’ needs.

You will find the information collected with the help of the fields in your response reports along with other data collected by your form.

The Country hidden field

The field will send you the information about the country of your respondent in the ISO 3166 format, for example “US”. When providing the information, AidaForm relies on the data collected by the AWS CloudFront service.

The Device hidden field

The field will send you the information about your respondent’s device. It will be equal to one of the following: MOBILE, DESKTOP, TABLET or SMART_TV.

The Referrer hidden field

The field will send you the URL of the previous web page from which a link to your form has been followed. When providing the information, AidaForm relies on the data collected by your respondent browser.

Please note that

• the field’s data cannot be considered 100% accurate;
• the field may be empty when the referrer cannot be identified;
• in case a form is embedded into your website page, the referrer will always be your website, even if you distribute the URL to the form on its own.

How to set up the Country / Device / Referrer hidden fields:

• Add the Hidden form element to any part of your created form.

  Tip: it’s more convenient to deal with it when it’s located at the very beginning of the form.

• By default, the field displays the Query Parameter type. Click the field’s type area and choose Country, Device, or Referrer.

• Enter your field’s name. The name may be any word or phrase in any language.

• Your Country / Device / Referrer hidden field is set up!
